For the second time in two months, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has re-assured soccer loving Nigerians that the much talked about contract signing with Coach Stephen Keshi will take place this Friday.General Secretary of the federation, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed told journalists in Abuja yesterday that the football house was well aware of the need to engage a substantive coach for the national team because of the various international engagements of the Super Eagles.
He said that the leadership of the NFF was eager to return smiles to the faces of Nigerian football fans who are still angry at the failure of the national them to be at the last African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea earlier in the year.
“Let me say this, we are all aware of the need to get a substantive coach for the Super Eagles and I want to assure you that by the grace of God, between now and Friday this week you will know who the Super Eagles coaches are.”
Mohammed who only took over as scribe of the federation late last month also hinted that the Amaju Pinnick led board wanted to develop football in the country but regretted the paucity of funds was slowing them down.
He therefore appealed to Nigerians to rally round the federation to ensure that the beautiful game was properly developed.
The scribe further praised the efforts of the national U-23 team, the Dream Team 6 who have qualified for the football event of the 2015 All Africa Games saying the investment of the NFF in youth development has started paying off.
Recall that the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick had last month said that Coach Keshi had agreed to the contractual proposal but several weeks after that the said contract is yet to be signed by the two parties
