Kelechi Iheanacho Set To Sign For Leicester City

Leicester City have agreed a deal in principle with Manchester City for the transfer of striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

The fee could rise to £25m for the 20-year-old but there are, however, a number of contractual issues still to address, including whether or not there will be a buy-back clause allowing Iheanacho to return to the Etihad for a fixed price in the future.

We’ve also been told that Iheanacho has to resolve a dispute over image rights with his former agent before any new contract can be signed.

We understand there is a willingness on all sides to get the deal done, and the player himself is keen on a switch to King Power stadium. However, no formal announcement is imminent.

Iheanacho’s impending arrival will see Leicester listen to offers for Algerian forward Slimani, 29, who cost a club record £29million from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

A return on loan to Sporting is possible for Slimani but the Foxes ideally want to recoup a large chunk of the big fee they paid for him.

Slimani only scored eight goals in 29 appearances for the club and was unable to dislodge Jamie Vardy as Leicester’s leading frontman.
